The mission of The Tree House is to strengthen communities by reducing the occurrence and impact of child abuse through counseling, educating, supporting and nurturing children and families in Barrow, Banks, and Jackson counties.
What We Do
We work to provide a physical and professional environment that supports the work of the agencies charged with responding to child abuse.
We work to provide parent education resources to improve family communication, thus reducing the incidence of child abuse.
We work to provide outreach education to deepen community understanding of causes and consequences of child abuse.
Child Services - helps children who have experienced abuse begin the healing process through therapy, support, and advocacy. Coordinates agency response to investigation and prosecution of child abuse allegations.
Family Services - offers parents the necessary support to increase their knowledge and skills for raising healthy, happy children through one-on-one, home-based parent education.
Piedmont Visitation Program - offers a neutral, family-friendly environment for parents working to regain custody of their children.
Community Outreach - through child abuse prevention education classes, works to deepen the community's understanding of the problem of child abuse and offer solutions so that no more children have to suffer in silence.
